Meet & Greet: SP: 1. Being Myself - Story

This is the first story of Meet & Greet Senior Primary. 

Many children find meeting new people and making friends very intimidating.  This often leads to shy or aloof interactions or conversely, dramatic behaviours that are not authentic. This results in the opposite of the desired effect, generally pushing others away rather than creating genuine connection. Children learn the importance of being kind, friendly, and themselves when they meet others. They learn to accept that they may not be liked by everyone and they may not like everyone they meet.  Learning social skills is not to change the child, but rather equip them to be confident versions of themselves.
