Meet & Greet: PP: 7. Giving My Name - Story

This story and activity aims to assist children in responding appropriately when they are asked their name.  They are also taught how to reciprocate by asking for their peer’s name in return.  At this level, they may struggle to initiate name requests themselves, but ideally they should learn to respond to a name request initiated by someone else.  More confident children can advance to requesting their peer’s name in return and others may even be able to initiate name requests independently.  The story also provides an opportunity for you to ask each child to give their name.
