Meet & Greet: SP: 5. Talking To Strangers - Story
Research shows us that the concept of a stranger is very difficult for most children to grasp. Some children think that a stranger is always a scary looking person. Others have a rigid view that all strangers are dangerous. Neither of these perceptions are helpful. Children need to understand that they don’t need to fear all strangers and it is common to come into contact with lots of strangers daily. This story highlights the difference between safe strangers, not sure strangers, and unsafe strangers that engage in unsafe behaviours. Children are encouraged to check with their trusted adults.
