Meet & Greet: SP: 6. Telephone Manners - Story

Children need to learn some important social etiquette around telephone contact.  There are many unwritten rules regarding telephone contact that can make this very intimidating for some children and lack of awareness of these etiquettes can result in rejection and misperceptions.  This story aims to provide some basic rules for phone contact (both messaging and calling) and encourages children to engage an adult when they are unsure of someone’s intention or response. This is a good way for them to check their responses and make sense of others’ communication. Not all children at this age have access to their own phone (which is a good thing) but they can start practicing good phone etiquette on their parent/caregiver’s phones.
