Faces & Feelings: SP: 3. Nonverbal Emotional Injuries - Story
This story helps children to see the different ways they can hurt people emotionally through their actions or inactions. This story highlights how these nonverbal emotional injuries can be just as painful as those caused by physical or verbal actions. Examples of nonverbal emotional injuries are dirty looks / death stares, eye rolling, hair flicking, storming off, leaving someone out, and ignoring. This story also references the Feelings Burger technique as a way of communicating their feelings to others, rather than resorting to hurtful behaviours.
