Faces & Feelings: JP: 1. The Emotion Thermometer - Story
This story introduces the concept of an emotion thermometer to depict a range of emotions. For young children it is best to help them to differentiate between three different strengths of emotions (low, medium, and high). Most of the emotions can be allocated to these 3 degrees. At the very bottom of the thermometer is the absence of that emotion and the intensity increases the further up the thermometer you go. The individual emotion thermometers (happy, sad, angry, scared) are also introduced in this lesson although do not require elaboration as they are covered in more detail in lessons to come.
