Chit & Chat: SP: 6. Humility - Story

This story addresses humility and how to behave when children do well.  The story provides some practical ways children can respond when they achieve or are praised.  It highlights that being pleased with their own achievements is a good thing but this can be balanced with acknowledging others’ efforts, achievements, and contributions.  The story guards against boastful responses.  It also acknowledges that some children feel embarrassed when there is a spotlight on them and then don’t respond appropriately.  Ultimately, children learn that success is not defined in a moment, each person has different strengths and areas of growth.
