Chit & Chat: JP: 7. Apologising - Story
This story highlights the importance of apologising when they hurt their friends. It differentiates between purposeful and accidental offences. It also helps children to see that repeated offences might lead to rejection by their peers and so they should do their best not to continue to hurt or upset their friends. The converse is also explained where children are encouraged to accept an apology and forgive others who have hurt or upset them. They are reminded that they cannot force an apology out of someone. They are however given permission to make a decision to stop playing with someone who repeatedly hurts them.
